HISTORY
Built in Coimbra in 1962 as part of the pharmaceutical company, Euro-Labor, Farmalabor focused its activity in manufacturing of products for the master company. 
The business expansion to external clients started in 1985 with the production of Tylenol for Johnson & Johnson.
In the late 80's the production to third parties already represented 50% of its total production. 
The continuous growth of the activity over the years demanded the construction of a new plant in the area of Coimbra, which was concluded in 1990.
In the same year, a new corporation was initiated with the international group "Grünenthal”, based in Germany, and Euro-Labor became the representative of its products in Portugal. Five years later Grunenthal bought the entire share capital of Euro-Labor.
In 1998, Farmalabor obtains the certification under the "NP / EN ISO 9002.
In 2001, the Farmalabor was acquired by the Portuguese Group Medinfar.
With this integration, Farmalabor continued a policy of expansion in industrial activity achieving new markets, supported by constant investment in equipment and facilities, training of employees and process improvement. 
In 2005, Farmalabor received its Quality Management System Certification in accordance with ISO 9001: 2000 standard, and in 2006 the Environmental Management and Occupational Health and Safety Certification, in accordance with the ISO14001: 2004 and OHSAS18001 standards.
In 2008, the Integrated Quality, Environment and Safety Management System, which covers all activities within the Company, was revised in order to be consistent with all requirements of NP EN ISO 9001:2008, NP EN ISO 14001:2004 (Amendment 1:2006) and OHSAS 18001:2007 / NP4397: 2008, standards. 
Nowadays, Farmalabor reached a high level of competitiveness and is a reference in the market of pharmaceutical contract manufacturing.
